Start of a new blog! A WoW blog!

Hey readers and fellow WoW players. I'll be blogging here about my exploits in WoW; just because I have nothing else to do with my time at the moment. Still jobless and looking for one, I might as well do something to improve my skills in writing and such.

So, considering it's a holiday down in the U.S. there probably won't be too much on here at the moment. I have however been using the unit frames which has been featured in MMO Champion-- called Shadowed Unit Frames. It's actually quite a nice change since I've been using X-Perl for like...well 2 year or so now? It's not as bulky as X-Perl and it has almost the same functionality.

Agenda for today would be, well...not much really. Just going to probably try to get Tribute to Insanity 10 man again; since Whole won't be attending today, we probably won't try for Dedicated Insanity.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. I've never really heard of SUF. I too have been using X-perl forever. I also bounce around tinkering between X-perl and Pitbull. Nowadays, I prefer to go for a less cluttered UI compared to what I used before.

I've gotten used to the idea of having one consistent UI (bar placement, unit frames, chat windows, menu bars) between all my toons, across all servers. Well, I do have a slight variation between a healer and a tank toon, but mostly because I focus my eyes on different spots when playing between the two archetypes.

It's funny actually. My personal preference in terms of bar management, setup and key configuration actually carries over from game to game. Whether i'm playing Aion, WoW, Torchlight, Dragon Age, it's all the same really. DPS spells/skills, group healing, single target healing. It's easy to arrange and I love having a template that I use amongst different games.

I'm just curious: what makes you find X-Perl to be bulky?

  2. I agree with this. It's the same for me, most of my UI tend to cross from character to character and game to game.

I found SUF to be less bulky than Xperl because you can increase and decrease height like you can in pitbull.

I tend to use GRID as my raid frames because it's compact. The only thing it's missing is a mana bar.
